The Vision
Stanway Parish Council sought to redevelop an ageing playground in a residential area, transforming it into an engaging, imaginative, and inclusive play space for local children. The goal was to remove outdated equipment and create a modern play environment that would be hard-wearing, safe, and encourage free-flow play.
The Solution
Caloo was awarded the tender to design and install a brand-new playground featuring exciting, age-appropriate play equipment and durable safety surfacing. The newly developed space provides a variety of play opportunities, catering to different age groups and abilities.
Key installations included:
- Castillo Castle 3003, offering climbing, sliding, and interactive play.
- A swing set with 2 flat seats and 2 cradle seats, providing options for younger and older children.
- Shark Springer, encouraging imaginative and active play.
- SeeSaw ST 0500, promoting social play and balance development.
- A challenging trail, including:
- Balance beam bridge
- Balance beam
- Stepping pods
- Tunnel, enhancing coordination and confidence-building.
- MulchBond and wet-pour safety surfacing, ensuring durability and year-round accessibility.
The Impact
The newly transformed playground at Lucy Lane South has quickly become a well-loved community asset, offering safe, stimulating, and engaging play experiences for local children.
