The Vision
Wisborough Green Primary School wanted to refresh its outdated play area, creating a safe, engaging, and accessible outdoor space that would encourage physical activity and social interaction among students.
The school’s objectives were to:
- Upgrade aging play structures with modern, durable trim trial play equipment.
- Improve surfacing to allow all-year-round access while reducing mud and maintenance issues.
- Create an inviting and stimulating space that supports active learning and outdoor play.
The Solution
Caloo designed and installed a comprehensive play area upgrade, using high-quality materials and an exciting Trim Trail design to enhance physical activity and adventure-based play.
Key installations included:
- 199m² stone base work, ensuring a stable foundation.
- 170m² of EN1177 Wetpour Rubber Surfacing in standard green, providing soft, slip-resistant, and impact-absorbing protection.
- New Trim Trail structures, including:
- Rock and Roll Log Traverse
- Drop Rope Traverse
- Small Traverse Wall
- Weaving Beam
- Rattle Bridge
- Stilt Steps
- Monkey Bars
- Double Balance Beam
These elements were carefully selected to support a wide range of motor skills, from climbing and balancing to coordination and strength-building.
