Our Process

How We Bring Your Project to Life

From first site visit to long-term aftercare, our four-step process keeps your project simple, transparent and stress-free.

STEP 1 OF 4

Free Site Consultation

Every project starts with a conversation. One of our experienced local authority specialists will visit your site at a time that suits your team, completely free of charge. We review the space, discuss your community's needs, the age groups and user profiles you want to cater for, your available budget and any site constraints such as ground conditions, utilities or planning requirements. We also advise on LAP, LEAP and NEAP compliance where relevant, so your project meets planning expectations from day one.

STEP 2 OF 4

Bespoke 3D Design

Our in-house playground designers turn your brief into detailed 3D visuals and scaled site plans, so you can see exactly how the finished space will look before any groundwork begins. We can produce themed playground equipment concepts or accessible playground design layouts tailored to your community's needs. Every design balances play value, fitness provision, safety zones, playground surface material choices and budget. We refine the design with you until it is exactly right, and provide all the documentation you need for committee approvals and public consultation.

STEP 3 OF 4

Expert Installation

Our directly-employed, DBS-checked installation teams carry out all groundworks, equipment fitting and surfacing in-house. We work around your preferred timelines and can schedule installations to minimise disruption to public access. Every installation is completed to BS EN 1176 and BS EN 1177 standards. The site is left clean, safe and ready for use on handover day.

Regular maintenance protects your investment, reduces long-term costs and gives your community confidence that their outdoor spaces are well looked after for years to come.

Providing outdoor gyms, playgrounds and safety surfacing to local authorities across the UK

From play areas for toddlers through to adult fitness zones, our complete range is designed, supplied and installed in-house to the highest safety standards. Explore the categories most popular with local authority projects.

Playground Equipment

Swings, climbing frames, trim trails, roundabouts, springers, seesaws and inclusive play units built for heavy public use. Local authorities need equipment that is durable enough to handle high footfall, vandal-resistant where possible, and suitable for a wide range of ages. Our playground equipment meets BS EN 1176, comes in steel, timber and robinia options, and can be tailored to fit any park or recreation ground layout.

Multiplay Units

Multiplay units are ideal for local authority sites where space is limited but play value needs to be high. Available in steel, timber and robinia, these units create a strong visual centrepiece for any play area while catering to multiple age groups in one structure. Bespoke playground design options, including themed playground equipment, allow you to create something unique to your community.

Outdoor Gym Equipment

Outdoor fitness stations encourage physical activity across all age groups and fitness levels. Local authorities investing in outdoor gyms support public health outcomes, reduce inactivity and provide accessible exercise options in parks and recreation grounds. Our range includes individual units, gym bundles, hydraulic resistance equipment, accessible outdoor gym units and calisthenics.

MUGAs

All-weather multi-use games areas with sports markings, fencing, floodlighting and goal ends. MUGAs give local authorities a versatile, low-maintenance facility that supports football, basketball, netball, tennis and other sports in a single enclosed space. They are especially valuable in areas where dedicated sports pitches are not available, providing a year-round activity hub.

Skate Park Equipment

Durable steel ramps, rails, quarter pipes and bowl features for dedicated skate parks and wheeled-sports zones. Skate parks address a real gap in provision for older children and teenagers, a group often underserved by traditional play areas. Our skate park equipment is built to withstand heavy use and can be configured to suit sites of all sizes.

Youth Shelter by skate park

Outdoor Shelters & Furniture

Benches, picnic tables, litter bins, shelters and seating areas that complete your outdoor space. These products are essential for making parks and recreation grounds welcoming and functional for the whole community. Shelters provide weather protection for spectators and rest areas, while quality furniture encourages longer visits and greater use of the space.

Safety Surfacing

Wet pour, rubber mulch, artificial grass, rubber grass mats, resin bound gravel and play surface markings that meet BS EN 1177 impact-absorption standards. Choosing the best material for playground surface areas depends on the equipment installed, the critical fall height, expected footfall, drainage requirements and aesthetic preference.

Get Funding

You do not have to fund your project alone. Local authorities can access a range of funding streams, including Section 106 developer contributions, Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) receipts, government grants, National Lottery Community Fund awards and Sport England funding. Our team will guide you through the options most relevant to your project and help build a costed proposal to support your application.

The Benefits of Local Authority Playgrounds

Investing in quality playground equipment, outdoor gyms and community outdoor spaces delivers measurable returns for local authorities and the communities they serve.

Physical Development

Well-designed play areas build coordination, balance, strength and gross motor skills. Climbing frames, trim trails and multiplay units give children the physical challenges they need to develop healthy, active habits from an early age.

Inclusive Play for All

Playgrounds with accessible playground design features ensure children of all abilities can play together. Inclusive equipment such as wheelchair-accessible roundabouts, sensory panels and basket swings reduces isolation and promotes social interaction across the whole community.

Free, Accessible Fitness

Outdoor gyms provide a no-cost, no-membership way for adults and older residents to stay active. Placing fitness equipment in parks removes the barriers of cost and intimidation, contributing to lower rates of obesity, heart disease and poor mental health.

Reduced Anti-Social Behaviour

Well-maintained outdoor spaces give young people a positive reason to use public areas. Skate parks, MUGAs and recreation facilities channel energy into activity, reducing nuisance behaviour and creating safer, more welcoming environments for everyone.

Stronger Community Cohesion

Parks with quality play, fitness and recreation facilities attract more visitors, increase civic pride and bring people together. Research consistently shows that access to green spaces with good infrastructure improves mental wellbeing, reduces stress and strengthens social connections.

Long-Term Public Investment

Durable, low-maintenance equipment and surfacing protects your budget over time. Combined with aftercare and annual inspections, every pound spent on outdoor provision delivers lasting returns for the community.
