The Count the Shapes Play Panel combines two early learning skills in one outdoor activity. Groups of shapes sit across the panel for children to spot, group and count. Working through each set gives children practice in both shape recognition and basic numeracy at the same time, building confidence before they tackle similar tasks back in the classroom.
Key features of the Count the Shapes Play Panel
- Grouped shapes for spotting and counting practice
- Builds numeracy and shape recognition together
- Positioned at an accessible height for inclusive play
- Durable two colour HDPE construction
Counting each group of shapes gives children an early, playful way to practise numeracy skills they are also building in the classroom. The panel needs no moving parts to operate, so there is nothing for staff to reset or replace between uses. It suits one child working through the panel at their own pace.
Schools and nurseries often install the Count the Shapes Play Panel alongside other numeracy or tactile panels, building a short trail of curriculum-linked activities for children to move between. The panel’s fixed, single piece design keeps upkeep simple for grounds staff. It also suits SEN settings well, where a clear, visual counting task gives children an easy way to take part without needing instructions.
Built to last
Caloo builds the panel to the BS EN 1176 playground equipment standard, so schools and nurseries can specify it with confidence. Two colour HDPE resists weather, impact and fading, keeping the panel legible through years of outdoor use.
Teachers often use the Count the Shapes Play Panel to reinforce classroom numeracy lessons during outdoor play.
