The What Time Is It Play Panel turns telling the time into a hands-on outdoor activity. A large clock face sits across the panel with separate hour and minute hand discs. Children rotate each disc to set their own time, then read the numbers back to check their answer.
Key features of the What Time Is It Play Panel
- Rotating hour and minute hand discs
- Builds early time-telling skills
- Positioned at an easily accessible height for inclusive play
- Durable two colour HDPE construction
Rotating the hands and reading the numbers back gives children a playful way to practise a skill they are also learning in the classroom. The captive discs keep the activity tidy and ready to play, with nothing to lose or replace. It suits one child working through different times at their own pace.
Schools and nurseries often install the What Time Is It Play Panel alongside other numeracy or curriculum-linked panels, building a short trail of educational activities for children to move between. Every disc stays fixed to the panel, so grounds staff have little to check beyond a routine visual inspection. The panel also suits SEN settings well, where a slow, repeatable rotating action gives children a gentler way to take part.
Built to last
Caloo builds the panel to the BS EN 1176 playground equipment standard, so schools and nurseries can specify it with confidence. Two colour HDPE resists weather, impact and fading, keeping the clock face legible through years of outdoor use.
Teachers often use the What Time Is It Play Panel to reinforce classroom time-telling lessons during outdoor play.
