The Sensory Turtle Play Panel turns a friendly, oversized turtle into a hands on tactile adventure. Its shell combines panels of different textures, patterns and colours. Together, they give children a rich surface to explore with their hands as well as their eyes. Every detail invites a closer look and a longer play session.
Key features of the Sensory Turtle Play Panel
Each section of the turtle’s shell uses a different texture and colour. These range from ridged and dotted surfaces to smooth coloured panels. This encourages children to run their fingers over the design and compare how each part feels. As a result, this tactile exploration supports sensory development and fine motor skills. In addition, the bold colours and shapes help with early pattern and colour recognition. The activity sits at an accessible height on the panel. So children using wheelchairs or standing frames can explore it comfortably. Caloo also mounts the whole unit on durable outdoor posts.
The Sensory Turtle Play Panel rewards gentle touch rather than physical effort. Because of this, it is especially well suited to SEN and inclusive playgrounds. It gives children a calm, self paced tactile activity they can return to again and again.
Built to last
Caloo manufactures every play panel from durable, weather resistant HDPE, and tests each one to the RoSPA backed BS EN 1176 playground safety standard. As a result, schools and councils can rely on it for years of outdoor use. In addition, the Sensory Turtle Play Panel is part of our wider Play Panels range, and every design in the range meets the same high standard.
Pair the Sensory Turtle Play Panel with the Minibeast Play Panel or the Sparkling Butterfly Play Panel to build a nature themed sensory trail. As a result, children get tactile, visual and interactive play, all mixed together in one area.
