Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about specifying, installing and maintaining Sensory Play Panels.
What are sensory play panels?

They are outdoor activity panels with spinning, sliding, reflective and sound features that invite children to touch, look and listen. Most are moulded from tough two-colour HDPE and mounted on sturdy posts, with a freestanding totem for smaller spaces.

Which sensory panels suit early years?

Most of them, as nearly all our sensory play panels are listed for ages 2 and up. The Early Years Mini Beast Play Panel has spinning finger maze wheels designed for early learning, and the Minibeast Play Panel combines several simple, hands-on activities in a garden scene.

Are sensory play panels suitable for inclusive playgrounds?

Yes. Many are set at an accessible height for wheelchair users. If you are planning for an SEN school or sensory garden, see our outdoor sensory panels for SEN.

What other panels pair well with sensory panels?

Add musical play panels for rhythm and sound, or playground game panels for turn-taking and problem solving.
